Ann Maskrey
Qualification: BA in Theatre Design and Craft gained at Wimbledon School of Art
Ann’s early career began in the costume departments of the Crucible Theatre Sheffield , South Yorkshire, and Glyndebourne Opera in East Sussex.
Becoming freelance Ann set up her own independent workshop as a costume maker working for TV, theatre, film, opera and ballet companies.
Ann then managed costume workshops for several high profile, studio based films.
Leaving the making world behind she became a costume designer for film and TV and now designs productions with a heavy costume bias, mostly ( but not exclusively ) period and fantasy.
She has worked on a variety of projects both at home and abroad and has recently completed filming the movie The Thicket with Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis in Calgary. She designed Mammals for Amazon in the UK and in February 2021 she she finished her third series of Britannia for Sky. Prior to this she designed Christopher Hamptons 1940’s novel adaptation of The Singapore Grip, shot entirely in Malaysia.
Ann is English and based in the UK.
